Dear Colleague,


Thank you again for agreeing to participate in the 2026 HBCU Business Deans Roundtable Summit, and particularly our new legacy initiative, The Deans Playbook. Your willingness to
share your experiences, reflections, and lessons learned is deeply appreciated and will provide invaluable guidance to current and future generations of HBCU business school leaders.


As we noted in our original invitation, the purpose of this project is to listen, learn, and preserve the wisdom of leaders whose service has helped shape HBCU business education. Your voice is an important part of that story, and we are honored that you will be contributing to these
conversations.


To assist with your planning, we wanted to provide several logistical details regarding your participation in the Summit. For your preparation, below are also the questions we plan to ask during the interview.

Individual Recorded Interviews
Wednesday, June 3, 2026
1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Each interview session will last approximately 25 minutes and will be professionally recorded as part of the Deans Playbook archive.​​

  2. What strategies worked best for aligning faculty, staff, and students with that vision?

  3. What advice would you give on building trust and fostering collaboration with faculty?

  4. What advice would you give to deans who are new to fundraising?

  5. Looking back, what do you wish you had done differently?

Deans Playbook Panel Discussion
Friday, June 5, 2026

Panel Discussion Questions:

  1. Looking back, what was the most rewarding aspect of serving as a business school dean?

  2. What was the most difficult transition you faced when you first assumed the deanship? How did you manage the issue(s)?

  3. What were the most impactful ways you supported student success and career readiness?

  4. What strategies helped you manage crises or unexpected disruptions?

  5. If you could give one piece of advice to a new dean starting today, what would it be?

  6. How should today’s HBCU business school deans position their schools for today’s workforce?


Additional information regarding the venue, transportation, accommodations, follow-up, and final scheduling details will be shared soon.


Beyond the formal sessions, we hope this gathering provides an opportunity for meaningful fellowship, reflection, and reconnection with colleagues and friends who have collectively contributed so much to our institutions and students over the years.

I hereby authorize the HBCU BUSINESS DEANS ROUNDTABLE (the “Organization”) and its officers, executives, members, and agents, to photograph, film, or video-tape me. 

I understand that any photograph, sound recording, motion picture, or video taken of me under this assignment is for the purpose of collecting and/or representing factual information in the interest of serving the Organization’s mission and agenda for promoting/communicating activities, events, or other interests. 

I hereby assign to the Organization all rights, title, and interest, including copyright, in and to any and all such photographs, sound recordings, motion pictures, or videos, and I hereby irrevocably authorize the Organization, its officers, executives, members, and agents, without limitation, to reproduce, copy, sell, exhibit, publish, or distribute any and all such photographs, sound recordings, motion pictures, or videos in perpetuity for the purposes expressed above. 

I further release and forever discharge the Organization, its officers, executives, members, and agents from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of said photographs, sound recordings, motion pictures, or videos, including but not limited to any and all claims for invasion of privacy, defamation, or infringement of copyright. 

I have read and understood the provisions of this agreement and understand that I am free to obtain advice from legal counsel of my choice, at my expense, to interpret these provisions. By signing below, I acknowledge that I have freely and voluntarily entered into this agreement.
